Animation
(Ages: 9+)

Thursdays, 4:15-5:15 PM

$125 each 5-week session

Students make their drawings move! Using the free app FlipaClip on iPad or android tablet, students learn the basics of animation through fun, hands-on exercises. We start with the classic bouncing ball, then move on to walk cycles, character animation, and creative techniques that make movement feel alive. Each week students complete a short animation they can take home and show off.

 

What to bring to class: An ipad or Android tablet with the free animation app FlipaClip installed and an Apple Pencil or compatible stylus. The Stylus or the Apple pencil will help students to draw.

Character Design
(Ages: 7-12)

Tuesdays, 9:15-10:15 AM

Ongoing registration

$125 every 5-weeks

In this class, students learn the foundations of character design and bring their own creations to life on paper. Each week we explore a new technique and a new type of character, from people and animals to robots and creatures straight out of their imagination. Students build and can share their character's story with the group, obtaining confidence and creativity along the way.

 

What to bring: Sketchbook, pencils, and an eraser.

Jenn Dupree is a digital artist and educator with over fifteen years of experience freelancing with companies like Nickelodeon and working with professionals in animation, character design, and digital illustration. She loves videogames, anime, comics and other fun art forms. She holds a BFA in animation and teaches in the St.Petersburg area.  She has a Youtube channel called Dude, Let's Draw where you can learn how to use digital art programs like Photoshop, Procreate, ClipStudio Paint and more.
