Ages: 18+

This class is taught by artist (and scientist-in-training) Reese Moore. Participants will learn techniques and safety of pyrography (wood burning) while creating a one-of-a-kind piece each class. After burning the design on the wood, participants will have the option to add color using acrylic paint. We will finish off by adding hooks to the back of the wood and then sealing the wood using water-based polyurethane. Each student will be given a “take home box” as the sealant takes up to 24 hours to fully cure. After cured, you will have a one-of-a-kind art piece ready to hang on the wall!

Feel free to bring food. There will be a couple of breaks for socializing during this class. Due to safety issues, no alcohol is allowed during these classes.

Fridays, 6 to 9 PM

Price: $45/class

All materials included

10/27: Beauty in Butterflies. Choose from several butterfly designs including some of Florida’s native butterflies! These gorgeous insects paired with wood add a beautiful touch to any home year-round!

From the artist:

My Name is Reese, I am a Florida native born and raised. I have been drawing and creating as much art as possible since I could hold a pencil. My biggest passion is nature and the animals that share our planet. My goal is to learn as much as possible about our natural world so I can share that knowledge with as many people as possible, and what better way than through art? While I specialize in pyrography (wood burning) I also enjoy sketching, painting, and working with clay!
